2025 Year in Review: Growth, Results, and Community Impact
Growing Our Team to Better Serve North Carolina
In the first quarter of 2025, Parton Law welcomed five new team members, adding depth and capacity across litigation, legislative support, and communications.
Attorneys Brian North, Johnny Payne, and Glenn Conway add litigation strength to Parton Law’s bench and bring the combined litigation experience at Parton Law to more than 75 years!
Maria Sanchez-Cruz joined as a Legislative Assistant and Darla Torres as a Strategic Communication Advisor, supporting the firm’s work at the intersection of law, policy, communication, and client advocacy.
This growth supports our mission: delivering timely, professional, client-centered representation in high-stakes civil matters.
Recognition That Reflects Peer Trust
In 2025, Managing Partner Corey V. Parton was selected to Business North Carolina magazine’s 2025 Legal Elite, a peer-driven recognition that reflects the respect and trust of fellow lawyers across the state.
Notable Client Outcomes
While there are too many to list, we’re proud of the results we’ve achieved, while always recognizing that every case is unique and outcomes depend on specific facts and circumstances.
Among our many 2025 highlights:
Favorable resolution in a complex HOA governance and defamation dispute, protecting clients’ reputations and addressing failures to follow governing bylaws.
Decisive victory for a client wrongfully accused of stealing a family heirloom and fraudulently obtaining a deed to a relative’s home. The facts did not support, and Parton Law secured clients’ innocence without the need for a trial.
Investing in Our Community
Our work is rooted in the communities we serve – and in 2025, we showed up in meaningful ways:
Carolina Panthers Small Business Partnership: Parton Law is proud to participate in the Carolina Panthers Small Business Partnership, connecting with fellow local businesses and celebrating the role small businesses play in strengthening our region.
We had so much fun sponsoring and attending the 2025 Charlotte Turkey Trot, supporting one of Charlotte’s most established Thanksgiving traditions!
Through the Parton Parkinson’s Project, we celebrated a major milestone with the inaugural charity golf tournament, welcoming 92 golfers and raising more than $7,000 to benefit the Carolinas Chapter of the Parkinson’s Foundation.

Parton Law Presents CLE Seminar on Trial Publicity, Ethics, and Media Strategy
On December 10, Parton Law delivered a continuing legal education seminar to fellow attorneys titled “Trial Publicity and Ethics: Navigating Media Inquiries Under Rule 3.6.” The program reinforced the firm’s ongoing commitment to thought leadership in the areas of business litigation, professional ethics, and strategic communication.
Managing Partner Corey Parton, Associate Attorney Brian North, and Strategic Communication Advisor Darla Torres led the session, providing practical guidance on how attorneys can balance their duty to advocate for clients with their responsibility to safeguard the integrity of the judicial process. The discussion focused on avoiding extrajudicial statements that could improperly influence potential jurors.
Successful Defense and Complete Federal Court Victory
Parton Law recently secured a full and decisive victory for a client wrongfully accused of stealing a priceless family heirloom and fraudulently obtaining a deed to a relative’s home. Recognizing significant legal and procedural deficiencies in the claims, our team strategically removed the case from the North Carolina Superior Court to Federal Court – an important step in positioning the matter for a more efficient and favorable resolution.
Once in Federal Court, Parton Law filed a motion seeking judgment in our client’s favor based on both the substantive flaws in the plaintiff’s pleadings and the clear, undisputed facts demonstrating our client’s innocence. After reviewing the record and our legal arguments, the Court agreed completely, granting judgment for our client and bringing the matter to a close without the need for trial.
This outcome reflects Parton Law’s experience navigating the complexities of both state and federal court systems and our commitment to achieving successful, cost-effective results for our clients at the earliest possible stage.
We’re entering the new year energized by what’s next: continuing to build smart strategies for complex disputes, helping clients protect what they’ve built, and showing up for our community with the same focus and integrity that drives our work every day.
